To those of you who bother to read my journals, I welcome you.

Saturday 10th of May was Animania Brisbane mini event. In my previous journal I mentioned I had started making the cosplay Susumu Yamizake from PEACEMAKER KURAGANE. The night before I was no where near finished this cosplay ready for animania so I tried to stay awake to do as much as I could. . . FAIL! I was too tired from work, SO the next morning I had help from my mother (who has helped me a fair bit with this since I don't know the in's and out's of sewing. Thanks Mum) and we pretty much finished it at 8:20am AEST WOO YEARGH!

When I got to animania, low and behold no surprise there was probably 2 people that actually recognized me strait away and the rest had no clue. I like it this way, "backwater" anime that 90% of the otaku population don't know. When the cosplay competition came around I went to the Marshalling area and chatted to the other solo cosplayers then it pretty much kicked off from there. After the whole cosplay competition I kicked back in the front row and said to my mate greg "I can safely say I did not win a single thing and that's the way I like it". . . Then my name gets called out for 2nd Place best male and I was like =OWTF

So all in all me thinks I will be making another cosplay starting in the next couple of weeks ready for the next Brisbane event, so I have PLENTY of time to get it done

Oh and I almost forgot. Congratulations to the two teams to made it through to the World Cosplay Summit Finals down sydney!!!!

Cosplay update.

I have finally made the decision to go full into cosplay. Since I am total newb at this I have chosen a pretty easy character to cosplay at the upcoming Animania Brisbane event. Susumu Yamizake Shinsengumi Watcher from PEACEMAKER KURAGANE is the character I will be cosplaying ^_^ I can't help but cosplay ninja!

A journey to spotlight saw me spending bout $30 on material for my cosplay since there are only 3 colours used for this character's ninja outfit. A steel grey colour and black, simple. Mum said it's all strait sewing triangles and whatnot, I'm just basing the pattern from my white Gi I train in.

For Animania Sydney I should have another cosplay done as well if this one goes smoothly in the short amount of time I have

Just thought I would upload a few bytes worth of rambling of this new hobby I'm taking up properly.

Hello to you people who bother reading my meaningless journal entries!

Work:

Work is good. Being an apprentice is good despite the amount of shit laid on you every day. And having access to literally tons of wrought iron product overloads ones imagination, seriously, I got a headache from thinking of all these cool weapons and ornaments i could make 0.0

Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm working, starting some alloy hand rails that I know just from rough sketch is going to be a pain in the arse. But on the bright side I'm forging 3 Kunai for my friend Hannah for her 18th, of course these will be blunt and I will not sharpen them as this would be illegal. I don't want an artistic ornamental piece taken and destroyed by the boys in blue


Cosplay: ANIMANIA! Starting a cosplay tomorrow arvo right. Yes, with bugger all money and time. Susumu Yamizake from PEACEMAKER. Also on this note there is this "PPM" happening on the same day, people trying to boycott animania. Yes this does have merrit and I would be all for it, BUT the WCS has hit australia and I'm going to see all these LEET cosplays

Hello all!

I am currently bored so I will update you all on my meaningless life of the past weekend and today. . .

FRIDAY TO THE PUB!
So we all went down to the pub, i started drinking beer like water and thought, hang on, slow down man. Then mish got Albi the bartender to make some Screech Juice, a drink his older brother invented and that was just awesome. Funny because we all ended up at some randoms house for a party and got into their drinks as well. . . SCORE!

SATURDAY TO ROLLY'S! Side trip to smitty's!
So mish and I started off at rolly's party which was good, but as the night went on we decided to high tail it and head to smitty's going away party at 11pm. Walked from rolly's to smitty's and met a trashed fergo and baked SA (no it's not a biscuit. . . hidden pun lol) and when we got there we were kicked out by a senior constable copper so I didn't argue and left with the crew and had the happy drunken mood I was in ruined by a copper.

SUNDAY TO THE COSPLAY MEETUP!
So I told nawar and the SA about this cosplay meetup and they really just came along for the ride to meet hot chiks. Seriously! anyway. It was K-thon, an event to kick off the years cosplay events and whatnot and also DSR's birthday! I sat down and sketched and inked a giant chibi ninja for her from myself, nawar and SA. The day went on and we wandered into myer center for food, we also met up with some one unexpected and lost the big group of people BUT with some sly phone calls we went back to the parklands and found the group once more.

The rest of the afternoon was spent taking photo's of all the cosplay and a big group of japanese tourists wanting to take heaps of their own pictures with us which was AWESOME! then we pretty much just wandered around the parklands taking more pics and eventually sitting down far from all our gear (under the watchful eye of a snoozing Vincent Valentine) and just chilled in the shade of some random trees. I was also asked to be in a movie based off a video game, this I certainly can't wait for!!!

By the way, if your all wondering if I cosplayed. I did. AS RAIDEN FROM MORTAL KOMBAT!!! Also an "oh snap" on two of us cosplayers, one fella decided not to wear his SUB ZERO cosplay and yeah, it was an oh snap on both of us because neither of us knew who was going and who was cosplaying lol!
